Company profile / COMPANY DEVELOPMENT

GEWI was established in 1984 by Mr Günther Stockhausen who, as a qualified banker, was previously in a senior management position at a private German bank. GEWI has focused on subsidy consultancy right from the start.

At first, the financing of operational investment projects with grants and promotional loans from the German Federal government and other countries was the focus of our attention. At the start of the 90s, Mr Günther Stockhausen and other partners established the European network "EuroIncentiveGroup". He led the group until 2002. With this, GEWI expanded its range of activities into the EU and international subsidy consultancy.

From 1995, it became apparent that collaborative research was becoming sustainable in Europe. For this reason, GEWI dedicated itself increasingly to innovation funding. In addition, GEWI took over the project management of research groups and supported companies with the technological and strategic assessment of innovation projects. Because of this, the technological funding in the fields of technology and innovation management expanded over the course of the year.

In 2000, Ms Sonja Stockhausen (Dipl.-Kffr.), daughter of the founder, joined the company. She was first employed as a project manager and in 2006 Ms Stockhausen shared management with Mr Stockhausen.

Since its establishment, GEWI has been independent and family-run. The shares of the company are owned only be family members.
